Yet, they persist in doing things to irritate the crap out of me
The cats attack the corners of the rugs turning them up so I trip — is this Stalag 13 and are they trying to tunnel out?
The dogs strew toys everywhere. Their definition of “their toys” now include horse brushes, saddle pads, and my slippers.
Just when things seem calm and peaceful, someone twitches and a giant cat fight erupts for no apparent reason. They are cranky, attacking each other without provocation. Often I awake in the middle of the night to find my bed has become a battle-ground.
Trash cans are randomly tipped over and the contents strewn across the room.
Shedding and intense scratching episodes ensue leaving tumbleweeds of hair rolling across the newly vacuumed floors.
Spring can not come fast enough.

I have to say, your post gave me a chuckle! While I do not have as many companions as you, my dog is suffering from the same thing. Until these longer days come with higher temps, he will continue to do the "Let me out, let me out…aren't you coming? Crap it's cold let me in…let me in" thing.
Ha! Thanks Laura, at least it isn't just me, right?
